One of the great things about working in IT and IT Security is that there are a myriad of resources available to help you build your skills. It can also be a challenge to figure out what resources are worth paying attention to, since the most finite resource you have is time.
This post outlines other useful study resources to help you in your networking and cybersecurity journey.
APNIC
APNIC is the Regional Internet Registry administering IP addresses for the Asia Pacific region. As part of their remit they provide some free courses and labs designed to help build out the basic skill set required to run ISP networks – including Basic Linux, DNS, Security and Routing skills. Although the skills taught are not on the Fortinet platform, the skills are transferable and well worth investing your time in.
Their free courses and labs can be accessed via the following links:

Dave is a former Microsoft engineer and has regular videos on his prior experiences plus short videos on different IT topics. I’d classify this channel as Edutainment, but there are useful tidbits in his content.

Wavelink Youtube Channel
Wavelink are an Australian distributor for Fortinet and have regular webinars on Fortinet products and solutions. Its a good resource to learn more general information about Fortinet and their solutions.

DataKnox Youtube Channel
Knox is a trainer for CBTNuggets and over the past few years (particularly during COVID) has thrown significant effort into getting his CCIE and several juniper certifications. His training style is very engaging and the breadth of topics covered for free is impressive.

Juniper Learning Portal
Juniper’s learning portal is an excellent free resource for learning basic networking skills but also IT Security skills. Although Junipers approach to networking is different to most other vendors, they have a commanding presence in the service provider space and their MIST AI driven networking is a solid option for enterprises so is a good skill to have.
With the service provider background of the company, the training is also very useful for filling in the blanks left by Fortinet’s own training in routing best practice and theory.

Microsoft Learn
Microsoft’s learning portal is a great resource for learning about their products, and considering the company is near ubiquitous in the enterprise its never a bad idea to develop those skills.
Their cloud courses also offer free labs where you can practice skills, which is fantastic.

PAID RESOURCES
While the best things in life are free, that doesn’t mean that paid options don’t also provide value. The following training providers are ones that I have found useful in the past.
CBT Nuggets
Has some great content, including some great Fortinet courses which are based on version 7.0. Keith Barker is the instructor for these courses and has a really engaging approach with great technical demonstrations which really help solidify the content. Even though the versions in use within these courses are a couple of major revisions behind, it is still an invaluable resource for developing your Fortinet skills.
CBT Nuggets has a number of other courses which compliment your skills as a Fortinet engineer as well, including on Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Microsoft and Linux.

INE
INE have long been considered the gold standard for CCIE training, as their courses go more in depth than just about any other provider, providing incredible detail in their videos and labs that it solidifies the teachings in mind of the student.
INE have some training on Fortinet which continues to adhere to this style – if you are looking for instructor led courses with lab examples then the INE courses are worth a look.

Pluralsight
Another stalwart of the IT training sphere Pluralsight has a broad range of training on every IT topic imaginable. Pluralsight recently aquired acloud.guru – probably the best cloud training provider available, so their cloud offerings are incredibly strong. Well worth a look if you are wanting to boost your cloud and cloud security skill sets.

That’s the end of my training provider roundup – please comment to let me know of any providers you have found to be useful for your studies as well as this list is far from exhaustive of the options out there, just what I have found useful. I hope it is of use for you as well.
